I've seen two peregrines on structures near the low bridge to West Seattle
(bridgekeeper's tower, power poles next to the bridge, the box itself) every
morning this week. This morning the bridgekeeper's tower was deserted but as I
watched a peregrine soared in, pulled up, and landrf atop it. It called (an
oddly squeaky noise) a few times, looking towards the box under the high bridge
before flying to the box where, it turned out, the second falcon already was.
They squeaked together for less than a minute and then the first bird flew back
to the tower. It looks to me like the couple is back for another nesting season.
Yay!
