Making the rounds through the Midwest listservs, Kentucky to Nebraska and
perhaps beyond are these really really cool images _Yellow Northern
Cardinal_ (http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos/yellow_NOCA.htm) . The real deal and
legit apparently (not photoshopped) and of course extremely rare (specimen
LSU). For the extreme scientists amongst you, an interesting paper came out
of the LSU specimen in 2003 (Condor) -- pdf online at:

A few years back, someone posted a picture of a pretty convincing *green*
Northern Cardinal which I haven't been able to track down yet but was a
photoshopped image done up for St. Pats Day. Just think of all the havoc one
could do with photoshop :-))
