In celebration of peace breaking out in the middle east and the world
with the Facebook revolution, starting tomorrow, Monday, February 7th at
6:00 am I will be leading a series of plant, animal, fungus and human
community rebuilding walks starting at my coffee shop, Cafe Ladro.
Birds, plants, fungi and lichens will be among the fascinating and
beautiful organisms that will be pointed out and talked about. I am
currently scheduling this first walk for only one hour round trip, but
anyone who wants will be able to return separately from me. Cafe Ladro
is at 7011 California Av SW between SW Frontenac and SW Myrtle to
Lincoln Park and back. I will share my knowledge and enthusiasm for
nature. We will bring some native seeds to sprinkle and will eat some
weeds. All are welcome. Grandparents and grandchildren are especially
welcome, but plain old adults are quite welcome also. This could be a
model used around the world to steward the regrowth of a maximally wild,
diverse natural community into which the human community is re-connected
and re-incorporated as a symbiotic member.
