It sounds as though a number of us in western Washington are seeing
these birds again this winter after years of absence. Rechecking my
notes, I see that they first showed up at our feeder this winter in
mid-December 2010, and flocks have been intermittent visitors ever
since, including yesterday.

Saturday, 9:00 am 7 Evening Grosbeaks on our platform feeder. After 2
quick window strikes, they decided to leave. We haven't recorded
sightings of these beautiful birds at our feeders since Dec. 4, 2005.
