I dunno. Every once in awhile I think those guys in Oly deserve to do
something light-hearted, even if it costs a little extra. I wouldn't
want to do that job. Plus, I just don't think the Goldfinch is that
great a choice for our state. Beautiful as they are, they aren't that
commonly seen by most people, unless they have feeders, are
bird-watchers, or just happen to be in the right place. I know their
songs and calls, and can recognize them in flight from a distance. So, I
know they're around. Many probably don't. Jays are hard to miss with
their noisy aggressive habits, and herons are, well, REALLY BIG!
