A quick vote of "Yea" for the Varied Thrush.
Beautiful to see and beautiful to hear,
accessible, not claimed elsewhere, very Northwest,
elusive and mysterious - but not unknowable,
haunting not daunting, identifiable even by a
beginner once you get past ... "Oh, look it is not
a robin after all (and thus educational), visible
and widespread (relatively at least) and very
important to my criteria - not a migrant or
vagrant - to me one of the major shortcomings of
the Black Swift.
