For anyone else who needs this ... handy during vacations or times when you are just too busy.

HINT: save this message so you will find it when you need it rather than mailing the email list. The unsubscribe links are in the headers too: try show headers in your email client.

Send the command (by putting it in the subject or in the body of the email)

set delivery off

to tweeters-request at mailman2.u.washington.edu

to turn off mail delivery.

Repeat the procedure with

set delivery on

to restart mail delivery.

You can do the same with unsubscribe and subscribe command to leave and rejoin the list.
