Hi Tweeters,
Anyone up for a little invasive species control and light birding
after?

Recently, I began working with the Green Kent
Stewardship program. Everyone was able to choose an area that they
felt could use restoration efforts. I chose to "adopt" the Green River
Natural Resources Area, aka Kent Ponds, since I am very familiar with
it, helping with the Ponds census sometimes.

As part of this program, we are clearing invasive plant species from
an area called the Superhighway within the locked area of the park.
Several years ago, native species were planted and we are going back
through them to clear out any unwanted guests.

BRIBE ALERT! I spoke with Matt who is the Environmental Ecologist on
site and he has given us permission to stay afterwards and bird within
the constructed wetlands and ponds area after the work party. This is
a great way to see and bird the areas within the park that are not
accessible to the public, as the gates are locked.

Please read write-up below and reply to me directly:

Thanks!
