Hi Tweeters:
Rudy Schuver and his wife live in Enumclaw. They are birders and are in WOS. They traveled the roads in Enumclaw today, viewing over 100 Bald Eagles near the farms. The eagles come in when the cows are giving birth and there is afterbirth and carcasses in the fields. The pastures have Trumpeter Swans. At one of the dairy farms there are a few Trumpeter Swans, and with them there is a BLACK SWAN. This black bird w/ red bill is native to Australia, and obviously an escapee, but still a gorgeous bird to see.
Rudy called me to say the Black Swan was seen today in the middle of a large field just past Vandam Dairy Farm, 42805 188th Ave SE, Enumclaw, WA. Rudy said it is about 5 miles west of Enumclaw. Take the Auburn-Enumclaw hwy (hwy 164), and turn south onto 188th Ave SE. Travel several hundred feet south to just past Vandam's farm. The Schuvers saw it in a huge pasture on the right. They said if you travel south to SE 432nd St, you can take a right and you will have an even better view of the field.
Rudy sent 3 photos, which I can fwd off-list if anyone wants to see them.
