Hello,
I made a whirlwind trip down to the southeast part of the state today. I
met up with Tom Mansfield for part of the day. Here are some highlights:
Wawawai Canyon: Sharp-shinned and Cooper's Hawk,Great Horned (3), Barn (2),
N Saw Whet, W Screech (3) Owls, Townsend's Solitaire, Canyon Wren.
Along the Snake River just before crossing into Asotin County, I found a
female Long-tailed Duck (both Asotin and Whitman Counties.
In Asotin County, Tom found a Peregrine Falcon, Barn Owl, and Gray-crowned
Rosy Finches in the cliffs west of Clarkston.
Garfield County: Sweeney Gulch Rd - Rough legged Hawk, Prairie Falcon, N
Pygmy Owl, Hairy Woodpecker,Clark's Nutcracker, Mt Chickadee, Red-breasted
and White breasted Nuthatch, Red Crossbill.
Kirby-Melview Rd: Grey crowned Rosy Finches (feeder at a house), Horned
Lark.
Lower Granite Dam: Hooded Merganser, Herring Gull.
