My friend Casey, dad and I got back last night from a three day trip
to the okanogan highlands and waterville plateau. We found some great
birds in both places.

okanogan highlands list

3 american tree sparrows[ mary ann creek rd
1 northern goshawk [davies rd]
6 snow bunting [havilah rd]
1 golden eagle [fancher rd]
1 prairie falcon [fancher rd]
2 Clarks nutcracker [havilah rd]
8 rough legged hawks [all over ]
7 mountain chickadee [bolster rd]
5 northern shrikes [all over]

waterville plateau

1 gryfalcon [ along 172 in-between Mansfield and k rd]
1 american tree sparrow [mansfield cemetery]
2 great horned owls [mansfield cemetery]
2 prairie falcons [along 172 and dyer hill rd]
35 gray partridge [20 at withrow and 15 at junction 172 and 2]
2 northern shrike
1 n. saw-whet owl [bridgeport state park]
36 cedar waxwings but no bohemian waxwings

we tried hard for the sharp tailed grouse and n. pygmy owls but found none.
