Monday, Dave and I went to LaConner for 3 days, and visited Fir Island. The Snow Geese were fantastic to see! Among those Dave photographed was this 'red-headed' one. Any ideas why it has this look?

We also spotted the Blue Goose (dark morph) and got excellent looks. It is amazing how, within a flock of at least 50,000 Snow Geese, you can spot the one that looks different. Besides the Snow Geese, we saw Trumpeter Swans, Kestrel, lots of Bald Eagles, Golden Eagle, N. Harriers, and, one of my favorites, a Northern Shrike.
