The House Finches must all be at my house. My average for this year doing
Feederwatch is 57.4 House Finches per visit. With the 4 degrees we had here
Friday night, I counted 137 House Finches in my yard at one time on
Saturday. In previous years, I have had as many as 178 at one time.
Average flock size has gone up each year I have been doing Feederwatch here.

2007 - 2008 = 44.0
2008 - 2009 = 43.3
2009 - 2010 = 52.5

There seems to be a lot less House Finches in my neighborhood this winter
than usual. I've been getting one pair visiting my feeder every so often
this winter. In most other years I've had regular feeding frenzies of House
Finches, but not this year. Has anyone else noticed a decline in House
Finches?
