Hi Tweeters!

When I got home from work yesterday (Friday) my husband advised me that a Yellow-rumped Warbler had been relentlessly tapping on our window near the suet feeder -- perhaps trying to drive off the impudent male refusing to leave HIS food source? After a decoration was hung in the window, the reflection must have been less threatening, as he did not make any showings on Friday evening before the sun went down.

But this morning, "tap, TAPPPPPP, tap", and I had to get up to see for myself. A Yellow-rump sat on a twig staring at me, as I stared back, blurry-eyed, until I suddenly realized - "YES! My first bird of 2011 is a Yellow-rumped Warbler!!!"

Visions of sugar plums indeed! I'm sure it will be a wonderful Year Ahead!

Happy Birding,
