Today was the Tri-Cities' CBC and Bill covered the Yakima River Delta. With
the current cold temperatures, the delta has frozen and the gulls started
gathering in the afternoon. Around 2 pm Bill found 2 Lesser Black-backed
Gulls and 2 immature Thayer's Gulls among the four more common species. I
joined Bill as did Guy McWethy. As time went on, more and more gulls flew
in. Guy added an adult Thayer's and I found an adult Glaucous Gull. Three
really good finds for the CBC. The unofficial total was 106 species.
