Hello all,
We participated in the Tricities CBC today - COLD but sunny. Highlights of our area:
Orange-crowned Warbler - 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler - 2
Spotted Towhee - 1
Northern Goshawk - 1 subadult
Merlin - 2 birds
Northern Shrike - 1
Long-eared Owl - 1 bird
Marsh Wren - 3
Mew Gull - 1 came in to chumming along with Glaucous-winged, Herring and many Ring-billed and California Gulls.
Killdeer - 1 along the river
Also picked up a few birds in Walla Walla county going and coming - with the other folks out today the year list is at 59 birds.
Shoemakes found Ferruginous Hawk and Wilson's Snipe and a Blue Jay came in to a feeder in WW for some very nice January 1 birds!
Stopped at Wallula Grain Terminal after sundown on our way home - lots of ice but 200+ Wood Ducks out there.
It was a fun day - M & M
