Here on Long Lake just outside Lacey we usually have a huge flock of wintering Coots, well over 100. This year I only see about six. Is anyone else seeing fewer Coots this year? If so, any idea why? The duck numbers are also way down, though many of those we commonly see may be over on Capitol Lake, where there are goodly numbers. Anyway, with the global environment going to hell I worry about decreasing numbers of anything.
