I read of one theory that places the blame for the blackbird and fish kill on the U.S. Army chemical weapons arsenal in Pine Bluff, which is about 60 miles due south (as the blackbird flies) of Beebe. They supposedly completed a project in November of 2010 to destroy the last of the nation?s original stockpile of 3,850 tons of toxic chemical weapons including mustard gas, GB nerve agent-filled rockets, V nerve agent-filled rockets and BX nerve agent-filled land mines. Maybe they really weren?t done or they released something improperly or accidently.
