I often feel that there's a good deal of lens envy out there, and I've had to wipe away the drool more than once, myself! (insert laughter here).

A few issues I have with this post, though it is very funny:

1. You are describing twitching, not birding/birdwatching, if you want your pure form of birding, don't go a chasin' rare birds.
2. I guess Spotting Scopes are out of the question?
3. Please tell me where I can find a big honkin'-ass lens for only $2000!

Am I the only one who wants to puke whenever a brigade of "birders" show up
ith
a bunch of $2000 cameras with big honkin'-ass lenses?
Aren't we birdWATCHERS first and foremost? Shouldn't we leave the picturing to
he the likes of National Geographic? I just want to chase down a rare bird for
once and find people with BINOCULARS ONLY.
