Subject: [Tweeters] Bald eagle dives at mallards

This morning at 8:30 am, while doing my baseline collections, I witnessed a bald eagle dive at 2 female mallards and one male mallard preening on the thinning ice of Clark Lake, Kent WA. The mallards flew off and the eagle chased, gave up and then perched on a large doug fir at the opposite end of the lake. I later saw the trio feeding in the flooded field, co-mingled with crows.
Cheers.
