To me, a novice birdwatcher, finding a photographer with a nice lens is a treat. Without exception these enthusiasts have been kind and willing to share their knowledge and photographs which has been a great learning experience for me. I will often bring my entry level camera (sorry if I am annoying any one) and it is fun to document a bird that I find, but I can also use the photo for later checking on the bird identification with the computer ability to magnify and sending to a friend who might help me with the i.d.
Like any hobby or activity, there might be those who take things a little far, but my beginners experience with the bird watchers and photographers that I have met has been wonderful. They are a respectful and interesting group who love to help others and share their knowledge. Thanks to all of you who have helped me.
