Hi Bob,

I am going with Common Murre...the head shape (profile) and long slender bill, straight black/brown crease on the neck all hint to me that this is a Common. However, what clinches it for me is the fine gray/black barring behind the wing on the flanks of this bird which appears to only be present in a Common Murre and lacking in a Thick-billed.

Looking at my images of 1-2, I see this murre at 100% as you will be able to by looking at the link what do you think ? thick-bill or common.

Oh by the way, none of you would be able to see any of these images, or not if I had not acquired them with one of those big lenses. Long after some of you have left and checked the species off your list I will still be there. The camera is just a tool, that's all, as is my binoculars and spotting scope. How you chose to us these tools is up to you and is your right.
