hi all ... went yesterday morning (friday) to LaFrambois Road
(Shillapoo Wildlife Area) to look for the Phoebe and no luck ... in
fact, other than Ruby-crowned Kinglets and Flickers I didn't see any
birds at all !!!!!!!! ... went back this morning and it was busy !!!
... quite a few birds ... saw the Black Phoebe with his/her entourage
of about 10-15 Yellow-rumps ... zipped home for lunch and a couple of
hours later went back out ... this time saw the group of Yellow-rumps
but no Phoebe ...

when I did see the Phoebe it was 2 locations ... first I parked
directly across from the big oak tree and just waited and scanned the
frozen pond (flooded lowland) ... the Phoebe popped out from the
distant hillside/dike ... then he/she moved north (left) and I had to
move the car to an opening in the trees --- parked directly under the
powerline ... the Phoebe liked the scrub trees in the center of the
flooded/ponded field ...
