Tom Mansfield and I birded from Bingen to Vancouver today. Highlights included 1 Goshawk and 1 Peregrine Falcon at Bingen marina. 3 Tundra Swans were on the pond and a small flock of Lesser Goldfinches were in the trees at the marina. At Carson just north of the post office were a flock of Evening Grosbeaks. At Bonneville Dam 1 1'st year Glaucous Gull and further down stream at the fish hatchery was 1 adult Western Gull. Franz Lake NWR had 25+ Canvasbacks, Wood Ducks, lots of Tundra Swans, and 1 Trumpeter Swan standing on the far shore. At Columbia Way in Vancouver we sorted through 1000's of scaup of both species. There were Barrow's and Common Goldeneyes, 3 Surf Scoters.
