Dear Tweeters,

Today, before I could get out of the driveway and go birding, a kettle of Bald Eagles appeared over my house. That's near Lyman, Skagit County. There were 21 Bald Eagles in the kettle, plus a Red-tailed Hawk which occasionally buzzed one of the Bald Eagles. This was at 11:50 AM.

A few minutes later, at Lyman, there were a few more Bald Eagles by the river. One of the Bald Eagles, an immature, was flying around in a circle with what turned out to be a juvenile GOLDEN EAGLE!

I visited several other spots around Lyman, Hamilton, and Birdsview, and there were four or five eagles visible just about anywhere I stopped by the river.

I don't know how the eagle viewing was "upriver," during the Bald Eagle Festival, but there was good eagle viewing today along the Upper Middle Lower Skagit!

Yours truly,
