Yesterday (1/10) my son and I went to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle.? While
we were walking along one of the paths past a grove of fir trees, I heard crows
raising a ruckus nearby. They?were "mobbing" a pair of barred owls which live on
the zoo grounds.

These owls are not caged, but are "free range" owls which have chosen the zoo
grounds to set up house keeping.? Earler I had photographed a barred owl and a
snowy owl which were in cages. These are the first "free range" owls that I have
ever photographed.

I had earlier photographed a bald?eagle (ironically) flying over the raptor
exhibit.? I was told there is an eagle nest located in a?part of the zoo not
accessible?by the public.
