Just received a phone call from my brother who was driving to my folks house when he spotted what he thought was a Turkey Vulture around 84th & Portland Ave. in Tacoma. He's seen them before in Eastern WA & Indiana, but never on this side of the mountains, so called me for verification. He said it had the light wing edges and looked way bigger than the eagles and hawks he normally sees in that area, but just didn't look "right" to see one here.
I laughed & told him that yes, we do have them here. He felt better after that confirmation. ;) Not sure about spotting them in such an urban area this time of year, but thought I'd pass it along for any of you that might be in that vicinity today.
