And this reminds me that I didn't post about our seeing a half-dozen Tree Swallows at Ridgefield NWR on January 9. Is this an early date, or are the birds wintering? I was too busy thinking about the hybrid duck and bitterns and flock after flock of bugling cranes flying over at sunset.
