Hi Tweeters & Inland NW Birders -

Last weekend , the Washington Bird Records Committee (WBRC) met at
the Slater Museum to consider the latest round of reports. 30
reports were reviewed and voted on, 23 of which were accepted. 2
birds new to the official Washington State list were added to the
list based on these votes: Solander's Petrel, from a 1993 sighting
and Greater Pewee as a 'sight-only' record. In addition, the WBRC
formally removed American Black Duck from the official state list
after realizing that no accepted records were present.

With the 2 additions and one removal, the official state list stands
at 498. Note that the WBRC has not yet reviewed either the Lesser
Sand-Plover or the Canada Warbler from last year.

The results of this round's votes can be found at the following link
on the WOS website:

In addition, we've put up summaries of the October 2010 meeting at this link:

The revised official state list and the revised list of 'review
species' are available here:

I welcome any questions about the status of past decisions or any new
report submissions,
