Hi Tweeters,

Anne Kahle and I spent a couple hours in the Woodland Bottoms this afternoon
(1/18/11) and found an adult male SURFSCOTER and 4 unidentified female
scoters with the Scaup flock in the Columbia River. Thet were floating
downstream with the current away from the scaup when we left.

On Dike Road 0.2 miles north of Caples Road across from the RV Park was a
gull flock that contained an adult GLAUCOUS GULL and at least one THAYER'S
GULL. The adult Glaucous Gull may be a first for me. MEW GULLS around the
Bottoms numbered in thousands as there were many flocks of hundreds foraging
in the fields.
