Greetings all,

I was able to get up into the Okanogan Highlands yesterday afternoon with bright sun. The highlights were a flock of about 200 Horned Lark with 3 Snow Buntings in it seen first about 1 pm on the road just before getting to Nealey Rd. on Havillah Rd. They had been in the field down below, but posed nicely on the road for about a minute so I could get good looks at the Snow Buntings before taking off again. They were in the same general area again on the way out.

Two Northern Pygmy Owls. One on Nealey Rd. just north of the feeders sitting on a fairly low branch right out over the road giving great views. The other on Chesaw Rd. between Nealey Rd. and Chesaw.

As the last group mentioned that no Clark's nutcracker was seen, I must mention that I saw one at the West end of Mary Ann Creek Rd.

One earlier note mentioned that there have not been many Rough-legged Hawks seen this year and that was the case with me. I only saw 1.

Other species seen in no particular order:

Bald Eagle
Raven
Northern Shrike
Red-tailed Hawk
Eurasian Collared-Dove (2 on a wire at Havillah)
Magpie
Mountain Chickadee
American Goldfinch
Downy Woodpecker
Pileated Woodpecker (heard not seen)
