Tweets,
In the interest of scrupuously clean feeders, I often change the sugar water
in my hummingbird feeder before it is empty. I have 2 questions:

At this time of year, when outdoor temps are at referigerator levels, is it
necessary to change the sugar water as often as when temperatures are
higher? (Presuming the water hasn't frozen, which could change the ratio.)

I notice small gnat-like bugs in the water. Do the hummers eat these, and
is my cleanliness depriving them of much needed food?
