Hi there -

Having said we'd found very few snow geese, we thought we ought to post that today we did find a flock of about 1,000 on the North side of Fir Island Road to the West of Dry Slough Road. They were about 150 yards off the road. In the next field to the West was a flock of about 500 trumpeter swans. These swans have been in the same basic spot all week. The geese are new.

It has rained heavily the last 36 hours and the waters are higher than when we arrived last Thursday 1/13. Places where people reported geese last week-end, here on Tweeters, at Breazeale and Holiday Sports, were empty during the week.

Despite the high water there are NO road closures in any of the main areas. Forecast is for improved weather over the week-end. Come on up.
