There's always the possibility of seeing one mixed in with the large rafts of other loons in the channel between Semiahmoo Spit and White Rock, BC.
In descending order, the 'others' are Pacific, Common, and Red-throated.
The overall numbers will increase into March and April.

Subject: [Tweeters] Yellow-billed Loon?

Hi Tweeters,

I'm visiting the area for the next few months while teaching at Evergreen. I would like to see some of the regional specialty birds while I'm in the area. High on my wishlist is a Yellow-billed Loon. Has anyone seen one on the Western end of the state recently? At my visit to the Mountain Plover last weekend (which was a great treat!) I was told that Point Wilson in Port Townsend can be a good spot for them.

Does anyone have any leads or tips they can offer?

Thanks!
