The Tualco Road area was quite birdy this morning/early afternoon. At the
"prison farm" pond (Tualco Road and 203rd Street), we spotted a SANDHILL
CRANE. Looking from the south shore, it was on the left side (west side) of
the pond, first in the dried grasses and then walking out into clear view
onto the green grass bank. There was also an immature TRUMPETER SWAN
hanging out near it. The pond was full of COOT, and there was a small
group of SCAUP (greater?) also. There are still a lot of decoys on the
pond.



On the Tualco Loop Road, in a flooded field on the west side of the road,
just before the ninety degree right turn as you drive from the south, there
was a pair of BARROW'S GOLDENEYE. The EURASIAN COLLARED DOVES are still
hanging out in the trees here. Also, more swans in the fields along Tualco
Loop. A detour up a little road off of Tualco Loop yielded a group of
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS.



There were a lot of RED-TAILED HAWKS AND BALD EAGLES along our entire drive.
We saw one COOPER'S HAWK also. The flooded fields along West Snoqualmie
Valley Road are full of ducks-hundreds of EURASIAN WIGEONS, NORTHERN
PINTAILS, RING-NECKED DUCKS, and more.



The waters have receded and all the bridges in the valley are open. We
didn't go down to Sikes Lake, so don't know if 80th is open yet.
