Tweets,
Spent a very enjoyable day on the coast today with Kerry Turley. We had a couple of brief showers, but was mostly a pleasant weather day. While the Mountain Plover did not show (looked for it during two periods of 9:00-10:00 and 12:40-2:15), we did have a couple other nice birds.

We refound Ryan and Charlie's female Tufted Duck on the bay side of the Hoquiam ponds. All of the ducks were sitting on the shoreline this morning.

The other nice highlight occurred at about 3:00. Stopping by the Pt. Brown Jetty, we had a large flock of rock shorebirds and among the black turnstone and surfbirds we counted an impressive 12 ROCK SANDPIPERS! Thats one of the larger counts I've had in Washington in years.

A good day even without the plover.
