The weather was reasonably mild this morning (1-28-11) but the low
cloud ceiling has kept it dark. The consequence is poor visibility,
especially when looking up into the canopy and trying to distinguish
all those little feeders! The highlight of the Edmonds waterfront
was a flock of 150+ DUNLIN on and around the marina breakwater. The
marsh produced a few YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS and a calling VIRGINIA
RAIL. A male DOWNY WOODPECKER was at the hatchery and the lone COOT
continued in the ponds south of Willow Creek as seen from the Point
Edwards path.
