Today, my friend Emily and I saw a "flotilla" of at least a dozen LONG
TAILED DUCKS at the foot of Hastie Lake Road on Whidbey Island. The group
contained both males and females and they were sparkly white against the
gray water. The whole group dove and surfaced together as if choreographed.
Quite a sight.

Nothing else out of the ordinary on the island, but several CANVASBACKS on
the freshwater side of Dugwalla Bay were a pleasant find.
