We use boss here and the starlings don't eat it but the fox squirrels sure do. and the Common Grackles.

If Barry's suggestion of using black-oil sunflower seeds doesn't work, try safflower-I've used it for years and starlings really have no interest in it (nor do squirrels).

Try black-oil sunflower seed instead of peanuts. Starlings will usually reject sunflower seeds but the other birds like it.
