I decided to check out the Edmonds action this morning.
I scoped 3 HEERMANN'S GULL on the south breakwater among approximately 35
Glaucous-winged Gulls. I could not make out any California Gulls or terns.
At the marsh there were at least 12 LEAST SANDPIPERs and two WESTERN
SANDPIPERs working the mud flats in a loose group.
However the best sighting was a lone SHORT-BILLED/LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER. I
am not good with these species but I would be interested if someone does ID
it and if so please provide some field marks so I can look closer next time.
