Hello Tweeters,

? ?We were at Roger's Lake on Sunday the 2nd. The road is in pretty good shape. We did not find any Spruce Grouse around the lake or much of anything for that matter. There were about a dozen Clark's Nutcrackers hanging around and an adult Golden Eagle. We headed over to look at Salmon Meadows but the road is closed at the 2nd campground a few miles from Conconully.?There is a barricade up with pictures of a washout on the road to the meadows.

?? The best sighting of the morning was a bull moose at the?top of Baldy Pass on the road from Winthrop and Conconully. Seemed like it was a long way from any water.

?? Don't know about the road to Hart's Pass. Judging by the snow level other places, there might still be some snow up towards Meadows Campground.

?? We had 5 Lewis's Woodpeckers on the road to Long Swamp just west of Loomis. A male Williamson's Sapsucker was found on our friend's property on Cub Creek, northwest of Winthrop. We also had a great look at a Common Poorwill after dark on Rendezvous Rd also NW of Winthrop. A pair of Red-naped Sapsuckers were feeding youngsters at nest hole on the path around the beaver pond just below Sun Mt Lodge. Birding was good overall but as usual, it got pretty slow in the heat of the day.
