There is a still active Purple Martin (as of this
Sunday) nest in the right gourd at the end of the
boardwalk on the Audubon Birdloop at Marymoor
Park. I had seen the birds there the week prior
but was not able to get a picture as the adults
went into the gourd immediately upon arrival.
This time they fed the juvenile from outside the
the nest hole and then cooperated with a couple of
shots perched on the crossbar. I had waited 35
minutes before they first showed up and then
another 10 before a reprise.
