Following the excellent directions provided by Paul Hicks, I went in search of a Red-eyed Vireo this morning.? I parked the car near the Heernett Foundation trail at the base of Churchill Rd., just west of Tenino.? As soon as I opened the car door, I could hear it loudly singing.? I spotted it in a tall cottonwood about 100 yards farther up the road on the left side.? This was about 6:30 this morning.? Thanks go to Paul for his help; I don't see this species every year.
