Hey tweets,
First full day of my long weekend trip was in Okanogan county.
Got to Cameron Lake road a little late, having to drive from Bethel Ridge in the morning.? It was getting hot already.? Essh.

Quickly picked up ROCK WREN amd BULLOCK'S ORIOLE at the
southern end. And LAZULI BUNTING , GRASSHOPPER SPARROW, and
LARK SPARROW.? At a small pond? I found a pair of AMERICAN AVOCET and some RUDDY DUCK and GADWALL.
Dully lake was a little slow, but managed an EARED GREBE, HOUSE WREN, SAGE THRASHER, and BREWER'S SPARROW.
Towards the top end i saw a WHITE-HEADED WOODPECKER, TURKEY VULTURE, and MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD.
Picked up READHEAD and HOODED MARGANSER in the ponds along the Cameron Lake Loop road.

I met up with Randy to go thru Swawilla basin and Gold Creek, as he posted earlier. And we dipped once again for Great Gray Owls at Havillah, even though Khanh had them in the highlands that evening, and they were seen at Havillah the next night. Grrr. One of these days ....

The next morning we checked out Havillah and Hungry Hollow for owls again, with no joy. But right at the wet spot at the base of the Sno-Park we picked up HOUSE RWEN, PACIFIC-SLOPE and WILLOW FLYCATCHER, MACGILLIVRAY WARBLER, DUSKY FLYCATCHER, AND LAZULI BUNTING. Another good start.
Along Hungry Hollow road we also picked up both COOPER'S and SHARP-SHINNED HAWKS.

Randy then headed back west, and I continued east.

At Hungry Hollow and Grange, I hit a bonanaza.
BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK, BANK SWALLOW, YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS, all three TEAL (CINNAMON, GREEN-WINGED, AND BLUE-WINGED), BLACK TERN, BULLOCK'S ORIOLE, 2 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, WILSON'S SNIPE, REDHEAD, SORA, CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD, WILLOW FLYCATCHER, etc. LOTS of birds for such a tiny little pond! They have their property set up really nice for the birds!

Several spots farther along on Hungry Hollow had RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER, YELLOW, NASHVILLE, AND MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLERS, and GRAY CATBIRD.

The pond/marsh on Mary Ann Creek Road was also good to me, with SPOTTED SANDPIPER, REDHEAD, WILSON'S WARBLER, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, and the MARSH WREN that had eluded me for several years in Okanogan county! ;)

I made a couple of quick stops along Torodo road, specifically at Beth lake, having more good looks at BLACK TERN and SPOTTED SANDPIPER.

Then I was across to Toroda and Ferry county ...
