Hey Tweets!

I've got the seventh day of the blog done from my big swing around the state. It's almost all in Klickitat County, and it turned out to be my biggest single day in a county, including three life birds (Gray Flycatcher at Brooks in the morning, Ash-throated Flycatchers on the Goldendale-Bickleton Highway, and Lesser Goldfinch at the Maryhill Museum of art.) Dipped on the Acorn Woodpeckers on Balch Road - wonder if I was looking at the right tree.... Nothing too surprising bird-wise to report here, but it was a doozy of a day: stunning views of Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood and the Columbia, unexpected museums, panic, potholes, huckleberry ice cream, Stonehenge, birding failure, and the ultimate triumph of my DeLorme Washington Gazetteer over nature. Apologies in advance to anyone upset at how it all ends. Great trip, with 160 birds during the week and 10 lifers - can't imagine getting this much time to do this solo again, but it was perfect.

Happy birding!
