Yesterday around 6:30pm I saw about a half dozen TVs near Monroe as I
approached Rt 203 heading east on Tualco Road. They were circling an area
just east of Rt 203, across form Tualco Rd. I did not get an exact count
since I was driving.

Today while visiting a home between Snohomish and Monroe off
Roosevelt/Trombley Road areas there were 6 TVs soaring on the thermals above
their hay fields. Then they eventually all landed and began searching for
food among the new hay. Very interesting behavior. Then they again took to
the air and soared along in the general area for more than 3 hours. I also
saw 2 mature red-tailed hawks come into the fields and leave with 2 unlucky
rodents hanging from their talons.
Many of the barn swallows had fledged and more than a few were sitting
on the fence surrounding the horse area, parents coming into feed them in
response to the babes loud calls and movements. There were 2 nests still in
the barn with young in them but they looked like they would be fledging in a
day or two.
