Caryn,? It's more likely to be a red-shafted x yellow-shafted hybrid.? They do occur here occasionally, and Gildeds are really an Arizona bird.? -Rolan

Hi Tweeters -
Last night we had three flickers visiting- one had a red nape and red
malar - this was interesting since Sibley's shows Gilded with only a red
nape and black malar (as I recall).
Any thoughts on this?
