Anybody wanting to see kestrels can usually spot them perched on the power
lines along Tualco Rd, south of Monroe/intersects R2 203, just north of the
old reformatory farm. Two days ago I saw one perched on a wire with a small
critter hanging from its talons; last night I saw three perched on the same
wire in the same general vicinity. They were near the grange hall not far
from the huge old cottonwood tree at the corner where Tualco takes a right
turn. I wonder if they are nesting in that tree. Does anybody know?
They've been in this area for years.
