Hello Everyone,

I spent most of today in Asotin County trying to fill in some gaps before
summer runs out. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised at how active many of
the breeding species were. Of course, it has been a cool summer. Some of
the highlights;

Mouth of Alpowa Creek (water level high): Common Merganser, N Shoveler, Am
White Pelican, Spotted Sandpiper, Caspian Tern, Red Eyed Vireo,Yellow
breasted Chat

Chief Timothy HMU: Gray Catbird, Yellow Warbler,Yellow breasted Chat

Swallow's Park: Caspian Tern

Asotin Creek: Lesser Goldinch (as Asotin Park)

Savage Pond; Willow Flycatcher

Field Springs State Park: Turkey Vulture, Red naped and Williamson's
Sapsuckers, Pileated and Hairy Woodpeckers, Cassin's and Warbling Vireos,
Hammond's and Dusky Flycatchers, swainson's and Hermit Thrush, Townsend's
Solitaire, Western and Mountain Bluebird, Orange crowned,Nashville, Yellow
rumped, Townsend's, MacGillivray's Warbler, Western Tanager, Chipping
Sparrow, Vesper Sparrow, Cassin's Finch, Red Crossbill, Pine Siskin.

Snake River Rd: Black chinned Hummingbird, WHITE THROATED SWIFTS (1.2 mi
south of town of Asotin).

96 species - a fun day.
