I took advantage of some sun breaks to watch the Leucistic Red-winged
Blackbird at the Albertsons in Port Orchard this afternoon. He was
quite active and vocal again. I noticed when he preened or the wind
ruffled his feathers, that his breast feathers are mostly snow white
except for the edges. It's almost as if they are white except for the
parts covered by other feathers. I've added three photos that show

There were many Cedar Waxwings today, sometimes in the same tree as the
blackbird. Also a Red-tailed Hawk and an Osprey. The only other
Red-wing Blackbird I've seen was a female today. She snagged two
dragonflies while I was there.
